Part III - Seeking Wisdom and Truth

Wisdom is the study of the concepts of time.  Truth is the study of the realities of eternity.

Cowards never achieve high levels of philosophic thinking.  It requires courage to invade new levels of experience and to explore unknown realms of intellectual living.

The Old Testament

The practice of looking upon the history of the Hebrews as sacred and upon the written record of the rest of the world as secular is responsible for much confusion in the interpretation of world history. This problem arises because there is no secular history of the Jews. Following their Babylonian exile, the Jewish priests prepared a new account of God's supposedly miraculous dealings with the Hebrews.  After writing this sacred history of Israel (as portrayed in the Old Testament), the priests destroyed the existing records of Hebrew affairs.

To understand the compulsion of the Jewish rabbis to revise their secular history, the Jews were struggling with their providential concept of divine intervention rewarding righteous living coupled with dire punishment for sin.

The New Testament authors and later Christian writers further distorted Hebrew history by their attempts to elevate the preaching of the Jewish prophets to transcendent levels. Hebrew history became a fictitious but dogmatic sacred lore inextricably tied to the moral concepts and religious teachings of the Christian churches.

The New Testament

While Mark was not an apostle, he did write the first account of Jesus' life. Mark served Jesus and the apostles as a camp boy. Mark was present at many of the scenes that he depicted.  After the death of Jesus, Mark was associated with Peter and following Peter’s crucifixion, with Paul.

Knowing Jesus refused to write out his teachings when on earth, Mark, too was reluctant to write the gospels.  Peter, however, felt the church at Rome needed to buttress and preserve the oral teachings of Jesus with a written narrative.  So Mark made many notes and compiled an outline that Peter approved.  He began his writing soon after Peter's death in A.D. 67. He completed the Gospel in A.D. 68.

Mark wrote entirely from his and Peter's recollections. Changes and deletions to Mark’s original work occurred over time.  New material replaced lost notes.

Paul’s Christianity

Based chiefly on the personal religious experience of the Apostle Paul, the New Testament of Christianity mainly discusses Paul's religious experience and his personal religious convictions.

Paul taught several errors.  For example, Paul considered women inferior to men. His beliefs fostered the celibate priesthood in Christianity.  Science, not religion, finally emancipated woman by changing living conditions so man’s strength is no longer superior to womanpower.

Paul thought that Christ was the final human sacrifice and the divine Judge would no longer judge individual men.  Christ’s death on the cross was not a blanket pardon for the sins of humanity.

In addition, Paul confused Jesus with the Eternal Son of the Trinity.  The second person of the Trinity, the Eternal Son of God is the Christ.  The Eternal Son is total Sonship.  The Christ includes all fused mortals, the 700,000 Creator Sons of the Eternal Son of the Trinity as well as the Eternal Son Himself.

Organized Religions

The dangers of organized religions are:

Formalizing beliefs into dogma

Amassing vested interests

Diverting religion from the service of God to the service of the church

Allowing religious leaders to become administrators instead of ministers

Forming sects and competitive divisions

Setting up harsh ecclesiastical authority

Adopting an aristocratic "chosen-people" attitude

Fostering false and exaggerated ideas of sacredness

Petrifying worship through mechanical religious rites

Venerating the past while ignoring present demands

Failing to update religion causing adventuresome souls to lose interest.

Organized religion restrains men instead of releasing them for heightened service as kingdom builders.  Hopelessly doomed, such people panic at every new discovery and every new revelation of truth.

Release from Tradition

The social heritage of its native citizens decides a world's culture.  The ability of its inhabitants to grasp new and advanced ideas controls its rate of cultural expansion.

Slavery to tradition produces stability by linking the past with the present.  The danger of tradition is that it stifles initiative and enslaves creative powers.

Fortunately, when physical conditions are right, sudden mental metamorphoses take place. As spiritual values receive proper acknowledgment, cosmic meanings become clear, and the personality progressively releases from the handicaps of time and the limits of space.

For example, dramatic worldwide climatic changes caused much of the human race to become omnivorous in dietetic practice. Combining the wheat, rice, and vegetable diet with the flesh of the herds marked a great forward step in the health, vigor, and mental aptitude of the ancients.

Jesus’ Challenge

The twelve Jewish apostles had to alter their religious views to follow the teachings of Jesus.  The apostles initially thought Jesus was simply a new Jewish prophet.  They were the first converts to the new religion of the Spirit taught by Jesus.

Historically, the Jews are a very religious race.  For several centuries before Christ, Jewish religious leaders assembled various doctrines and traditions into a religion of intellectual beliefs based upon a hierarchical religion of authority. In a religion of authority, the aspirants for salvation must do and believe what the mortal priests and hierarchy tell them to do.

Contrary to the established religion of the Jews, Jesus’ new religion of the Spirit needed no priests or hierarchy standing between mortals and the Father in Paradise.  The new religion required only an appeal to the divine spirit of the Father (the Thought Adjuster) that resides in the mind of man.  The “authority” of the religion of the Spirit derives from the experiences of an elevated spiritual communion realized by the person when “born again.”

Like all mortals, the apostles had a choice.  They could continue to conform to the dictates of an established and fossilized religion or realize the grandeur of living a personal experience of the truth, beauty, and goodness of the kingdom of heaven.

In challenging the apostles to be born again of the spirit, Jesus was calling them out of spiritual darkness into the greatest discovery possible for the human soul.  Each apostle would know the transcendent experience of finding God for himself, within himself.

New discoveries and revelations of truth frighten followers of the false religious teachers.  The Father does not require men to subscribe to beliefs in things that are spiritually repugnant. The religion of the spirit leaves men free to follow the truth wherever the leadings of the spirit may take them.

Beyond the Ten Commandments

In the history of religion, three things mark the separation of materialism and spirituality.  The first was the Ten Commandments. The unsophisticated level of human intelligence at the time the Commandments were given required negative statements, "Thou shall not."  This negative declaration obliged humans to abstain from material desires and things. Upgrading of the lessons of the Ten Commandments will continue.  Even the Beatitudes will appear embryonic.

Christ struggled to end the need for the Ten Commandments.  He gave mortals an eleventh commandment, "love one another." This commandment rendered all other law, the prophets, and the Ten Commandments superfluous.  In addition to the law of brotherly love, Christ gave mortals the Lord's Prayer that emphasized the Fatherhood of God, the coming of the Father’s Kingdom and anticipation of right human relations articulated as the will of God.

In the Beatitudes, Christ talked about humans who were poor in spirit, hungered after righteousness, endured meekness, and who were pure in heart. Such spirit-discerning mortals could achieve a level of divine selflessness that would enable them to attempt the exercise of fatherly affection.  With such empowerment, humans would demonstrate mercy, promote peace, and even endure persecutions while loving their persecutors with a fatherly love. A father's affection can attain levels of devotion that vastly transcend a brother's affection.

The Beatitudes stand on faith and love, not on law, ethics, or duty.  Fatherly love delights in retaliating with good for injustice. While it is not easy to teach a child’s mind the meaning of the Beatitudes, the mature mind should grasp their significance.

The Problem Is Churches Not Religion

People who express dissatisfaction with religion are more likely dissatisfied with their churches or the people who presume to teach them religion.  Many church figures are sincere and dedicated, but misdirected. As professional religious leaders, they write the rules for spiritual living, and direct the approach human souls must take to find God.

In reality, Christ guides the people of the world.  By presuming to take on the role of Christ, churches lay themselves open to criticism.

It is important to isolate the truths that are essential to man's progress and enlightenment and eliminate factors that are merely controversial and unimportant. Differences that split theologies are unimportant.

Church leaders must acknowledge that the spirit within each human is greater than the churches.  The spirit is also greater than any church’s teaching. In time, the spirit within each person will defeat the misguided churches.  The mistaken churchmen will be left behind if they do not enter the kingdom of God as unassuming equals with the mass of men.

The church might have been a favorable social outgrowth of the kingdom. The problem of the church was not its formation, but rather that it supplanted Jesus’ concept of the kingdom.  Christ needs no pompously dressed clerics or executive management in his kingdom.

Nothing can prevent the progress of the human soul on its long pilgrimage from ignorance to wisdom, from death to immortality. If the churches of all faiths fail to offer spiritual guidance and help, humanity will find another way. Nothing can keep the spirit of man from God.

To Jesus the kingdom of God is the totality of individuals who declare their unconditional commitment to doing the will of God.  This family of individuals comprises the spiritual brotherhood of man.

Jesus never opposed the apostles' practicing the rite of John's baptism. He taught that faith alone admits the truth-loving soul to the spiritual kingdom.

At the same time, the apostles taught that admission to the social organization of disciples requires the exoteric rite of baptism.  Later, the apostles taught that the kingdom would appear at the second coming of Christ.  In Paul's church, the kingdom of God became the Christian church.

Eventually, a new messenger will arrive proclaiming "the kingdom of God is at hand."  This message will signal a revival of the true teaching of Jesus.  Jesus blended man's supreme ideas and ideals with man's most sublime hope for the future, eternal life. This is the gospel of the kingdom.

A World Where Christ Reigns

Imagine what the world would be like if man complied with Christ’s teachings.  War would be impossible.  Crime and disease would be minimal.  (Diseases arising from the misuse of sex underlie many physical ailments that ravage modern civilization.)

Methods of dealing with crime, insanity, and degeneracy would reflect the actions of a more enlightened age. Segregation by sex and placement in self-supporting agricultural settlements will avoid the proliferation of ordinary criminals and defective humans. Euthanasia will control the population of serious criminals and the incurably insane.

Earth is slowly evolving to accept Christ’s teachings.  Business competition is displacing war.  (Although war still ensures the survival of favored industries.) Society today view competition as necessary for social progress.  However, unregulated competition can breed violence.  Co-operation will eventually replace competition in a world aligned with Christ.

As mortals enlarge Christ’s teachings, they will consider social and political disloyalty as the most odious of all crimes.  Betrayal of public trust will carry the death penalty.

Many social problems arise from the tendency of humanity to flock together in enormous cities.  This congregating of people multiplies the problems of employment, health, and crime. Acceptance of Christ’s social principles for family care will limit the size of populations in cities.  Only unmarried people will live in apartments.

The Women of Christ

To the Jews, one of the most contentious things Jesus did was to form a women’s teaching corps. Jesus did this because custom prevented the apostles from working with women.

The corps of women was able to minister to sick women and even enter neighborhoods of prostitution to preach Christ’s message.  The women’s ministry discovered and rescued Mary Magdalene from promiscuity. Mary Magdalene became a forceful teacher of the gospel among the female evangelists.

The entire women’s evangelistic corps was present at Jesus’ crucifixion.  Only John of the male apostles was present.

No one prepared the body of Jesus for burial.  The women planned to prepare the appropriate spices and ointments, wait until after the Sabbath (Saturday), and return on Sunday morning to anoint Jesus’ body.

When the women arrived at the tomb at dawn Sunday morning, they were surprised to see the stone rolled away from the entrance to the tomb.  Always courageous, Mary Magdalene looked into the sepulcher and discovered it was empty.  Jesus’ resurrection team (invisible to human eyes) had cremated the physical body of Christ to avoid any desecration.

Suddenly, the confused women became aware of a stranger standing nearby. Thinking he might be the caretaker of the garden, Mary Magdalene, rushed toward him and said, "Where have you taken the Master? Where have they laid him? Tell us that we may go and get him."

When the stranger did not answer, Mary began to weep. The stranger asked, "Whom do you seek?"

Mary said: "We seek for Jesus who was laid to rest in Joseph's tomb, but he is gone. Do you know where they have taken him?"

The man said, "Did not this Jesus tell you, even in Galilee, that he would die, but that he would rise again?"

These familiar words startled the women, but they did not recognize the mansion world form of Jesus.  As the women pondered his words, he said, "Mary."

When she heard her name, Mary Magdalene grasped the fact of the resurrection.  She rushed to kneel at his feet exclaiming, "My Lord, and my Master!" All of the other women then recognized Jesus who stood before them in a glorified form.

Jesus made sixteen appearances to humans after his resurrection.  Each one was in a form more abstract than the prior one as he passed rapidly through the levels mortal survivors achieve in their ascension after death.  Always at the center of things, Mary Magdalene was present at four of these appearances.

Virgin Birth

There is no reference to the virgin birth of Jesus in the epistles and gospels.  Quite the opposite, St. Paul speaks of Jesus as “made of the seed of David according to the flesh,” (Romans, 1. 3).   Paul was referring to the seed of Joseph (who denied being a descendant of David). It would seem such an important tenet of the Church, as a virgin birth would have received more recognition from the early Christians.

The purpose of the incarnation of Christ on Earth was to provide the creator of this local universe with an entirely human experience.  With few exceptions, Jesus achieved this goal without superhuman intervention.  To gain converts, the apostles and latter day church figures enhanced his life experiences to fulfill prophecies and to align Jesus’ life achievements with those of past mythical legends.

Astronomy also accounts for some holy days. Two festivals observed in the Roman Catholic and the higher Anglican Churches are the Assumption of the Virgin and the Birth of the Virgin Mary on August 15 and on September 8, respectively. Each year the sun obscures the constellation Virgo about the time of the Assumption.  About September 8, Virgo reappears as it emerges from the light of the sun. This is termed the birth of the Virgin.  The birth date of Mary the mortal mother of Jesus is unknown and she died a natural death.

Today men are breaking away from superstitious religious beliefs.  Men are searching for truth and interpreting it themselves. The day of theology is over.

Superstitions

The courses of the stars in the heavens have nothing to do with the events of human life. Astronomy is a proper pursuit of science, but astrology is superstitious error that has no place in religion.

The spirits of the dead do not return to communicate with their families or former friends among the living.

Charms and relics cannot heal disease, ward off disaster, or influence evil spirits.  Spirits of good or evil cannot live within material symbols.  Idols are nothing more than their material content.  Amulets and incantations are futile attempts to win the protection of good spirits or to ward off evil spirits.

Casting lots may be a convenient way of settling minor difficulties, but it does not reveal the divine will.

Divination, sorcery, witchcraft, and the false beliefs of magic are superstitions of ignorant minds.  Numbers are neither omens of good luck or harbingers of bad luck.

Interpreting dreams is essentially superstitious speculation.

Prosperity is not suggestive of divine approval.  Adversity is not evidence of God's displeasure.

True Religion

The true church, the Jesus brotherhood, is invisible, spiritual, and characterized by unity, but not necessarily by uniformity.  The brotherhood of Jesus will become a living organism in contrast to an institutionalized social organization.

True religion must be lived.  Spiritual faith in the true religion of Jesus is revealed when a man:

Persists in an unswerving belief in God despite all contrary demonstrations of logic and other sophistries

Displays undaunted faith in the soul's survival regardless of the deceptive teachings of false science and the delusions of unsound philosophy

Contributes to the survival of altruism despite human selfishness, social antagonisms, industrial greed, and political maladjustments

Adheres to a sublime belief in universe unity and divine guidance regardless of the presence of evil, sin, diseases, or physical suffering

Worships God.

Teaching the Gospel of Jesus

The personality of man deserves respect. Even a righteous cause cannot use force.  This restriction refers to psychic as well as physical force.

Overpowering arguments and mental superiority should not coerce men and women   into the kingdom. While emotion is a factor in human decisions, teachers must not resort to fear, pity, or sentiment to advance the cause of the kingdom.

Many intelligent men say the religion of Jesus is impractical.  They say the teachings of Jesus could not support modern civilization.  This is true. The teachings of Jesus would give man a much better civilization.

The Dilemma of Miracles

People yearn for miracles.  They want God to relieve them of responsibility and do their work for them.

The Jews believed that just as Moses delivered their ancestors from Egyptian servitude, their Messiah would deliver them from Roman control. They were looking for Israel's exaltation rather than for the salvation of the world.

Unfortunately, men do not grow and move forward by inaction.  They do not learn and progress by shirking responsibility. Men must adjust their outlook to know peace.  Men themselves must work subjectively and objectively to remove the barriers between races, nations, religions, and individuals.

In preparing for his public work, Jesus decided that his lifework should be lived in accordance with natural law and in harmony with the existing mores. Jesus was not concerned merely with Earth.  He was living a mortal life designed to teach and inspire the diverse creatures of an entire universe.

Understanding that Jesus would not work miracles that defied his own established laws of nature, men should realize that he never walked on water or did anything contradictory to the material order.  With his immunity from the laws of time, the help of his armies of angels, and his empathic love for his people, he did perform many amazing feats while working out the will of the Father.

The Importance of Pentecost

While Jesus (the incarnated Creator Son, Michael) lived on Earth, he could do the work of just one man.  After his death, Michael's Spirit (the Spirit of Truth) could infuse all the worlds of his universe.  On Pentecost, the Spirit of Truth poured out upon all flesh.

When crucified and placed in the tomb, the religion of Jesus also died. Some of Jesus’ followers fled in panic at the threat of personal danger. Upon receiving the infusion of the Spirit of Truth on Pentecost, the followers of Jesus became a company of fervent missionaries ready to face persecution and death.

Unfortunately but understandably, the preaching of the apostles after Pentecost was about Jesus, not his religion. They had been through a time of inexplicable miracles, healings, and finally a conquest of death.

Their experience had been an exquisite friendship never before known on Earth. They did not think of Jesus of Nazareth as the crucial rescuer of Earth, the Christ who came to Earth to recover the planets and their inhabitants lost to the lieutenants of Lucifer. The depth of Jesus’ religious teaching is only now being understood as the Spirit of Truth provides for the everlasting expansion and endless growth of the religion that Jesus lived and proclaimed.

In addition, on Pentecost, Machiventa Melchizedek succeeded the rebel, Caligastia, as the spiritual ruler of Earth.  Earlier, Machiventa’s empathy for the plight of mortals on Earth brought about his covenant with Abraham.  In this divine covenant, Machiventa promised to do all of the work of salvation for man if man simply acknowledged faith in God.  As spiritual ruler of Earth, Machiventa determines which mortals proceed on to the mansion worlds.  Faith alone enables a mortal to find a foothold in the lowest mansion world to work out his or her salvation in a less hostile environment.

Pentecost and Faith

Pentecost commemorates the descent of the Creator Son’s Spirit of Truth on the apostles.  The Spirit of Truth revealed the true religion of Jesus in the individual souls of men.  On Pentecost, true religion escaped the custody of priests!

Accepting a teaching as true is not faith.  This is mere belief. Mind reaches to faith levels only when it dominates living.   Faith transforms mortals from animals into sons of God.

Religion in the Next Millennium

Humanity is racing towards a new planetary destiny.  Mechanical inventions and the spread of knowledge are altering civilization at an ever-increasing rate.  The human race must prepare itself for massive economic adjustments and social changes to avoid a cultural disaster.

To help the transition to the new social order, all religions must quicken their adaptation to the coming social changes.  Institutional adjustments in the churches must speed up to stay abreast of their members living conditions.  Willingness to change is especially important in the Christian church, which has become a religion adapted only to the social, economic, and political habits of the white races.

The main mission of religion must be to become a forceful influence for moral stability and spiritual progression during the coming transitional phases of civilization and from one culture to another.

Revenge and Forgiveness

Jesus deplored holding grudges or revenge against one’s brothers.  He disallowed the idea of an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. He rejected the whole idea of private and personal revenge, assigning such matters to civil government and to judging God.

Man experiences God's forgiveness for sin only to the extent he forgives his brothers.  Man will not forgive his fellowmen unless he loves them as himself.

Free Will

In time-space creations, free will is restrained and limited. Physical life evolution is initially mechanical.  Man himself activates mind evolution through choice.

Man cannot choose beyond the range of his animal-man choices.  He may choose to follow the path of universe ascension, but this is only because of combining human choice and divine will. What a son wants and the Father wills, happens.

The Kingdom of Heaven

The kingdom of heaven is spiritual. It is neither material nor simply intellectual.  It is a spiritual relationship between God and man.  The kingdom of heaven is free from castes, classes, and social levels.

True love flows from God.  The Father's love can become real to mortal man only by passing through each man's personality as he in turn gives this love to his fellows.

Uniqueness of Religion

Every human defines religion by his own experience.  Every interpretation is unique and different from the religious philosophy of all other human beings.

Racial Religious Differences

Religions run true to racial viewpoints.  Every race has its own perspective of human existence.  The racial differences are the reason the organized religions of authority can never unite.  Realizing the destiny of human brotherhood will occur only when the divergent religions unify with the ennobling religion of the spirit. The religion of the spirit does not demand uniformity of intellectual views, only unity of spirit feeling.

Remembrance Blessing

At the last supper, the apostles brought Jesus the third cup of wine.  He blessed it, saying: "Take this cup, all of you, and drink of it. This shall be the cup of my remembrance….” In setting up the only ceremony associated with his whole life mission, Jesus did not intend to establish a precise ritual. Nonetheless, his followers soon reduced his spiritually symbolic act to a formula performed only by priests.

The communal supper of remembrance, when partaken of by those who are Son-believing and God-knowing, does not need the foolish misinterpretations of men about the divine presence.  When two or more people gather in fellowship and when invited, the Master is present.  His Spirit of Truth fraternizes with the fragment of the Universal Father (the Thought Adjuster) that indwells each mortal.

Religion, Science, and Progress

Unlike science, organized religion does not provide for its own correction enabling development and growth.  Historically, religion has tried to hinder industrial and economic development.  It has wasted labor and squandered capital.  Religion has been negligent of the family.  It has not fostered peace and goodwill.  It has neglected education and retarded science.  Religion does however preserve ethics and morals.  Civilizations may come and go, but religion and science will always survive.

Science teaches man mathematics and trains him to think with more precision. Science also purifies religion by destroying superstition.  Science does for man materially what religion should do for him spiritually. True science can have no quarrel with true religion.

Earth’s Religions

Earth’s religions are chiefly social organizations.  The objective of earth’s religions should be to foster the growth of spiritual consciousness.

While religious differences are the hardest to bridge, progress is being made.  Many people in the world today believe in an ecumenical society of religions.

Though the unintelligent masses have little knowledge of spirit, they can accept belief in the one God and the idea of a universal faith.

Millions of people are agnostic or atheistic while many other millions are uneasy under the control of theological authority.  The spiritual truths of Earth’s religions are connecting, so they are all of equal progressive value.  Unfortunately, all of them lack the important element of Christ’s strict brotherhood of man teachings.

Divine Thought

The energy of divine thought interacts as a form of fire between Spirit and matter.  This interplay occurs on every plane of the universes.

The fire of thought animates every bodily form.  In man, vibrating fire holds the personality in tangible manifestation enabling the spiritual Thought Adjuster to contact the person on the physical plane.

In the soul of man, there is a fire of mind that is the thinking self-conscious unit of the soul. This spark of mind reveals itself as intelligent will, which links the Thought Adjuster to the personality who is functioning in the physical vehicle.

Man’s fire of thought is the vibrating flame of the Thought Adjuster.  This is the cause of the spiritually progressive movement of the evolving personality.  At the apotheosis of human attainment for this cycle when the three fires of the personality, the soul, and the Thought Adjuster blaze forth as one fire, liberation from matter occurs.  Matter correctly adjusts to spirit.

Evil

Evil is a result of creating time and space.  Projecting Spirit into matter causes evil. Yet, there is no spiritual evil.  While it is true that God created evil, it is equally true that God is Spirit, and Spirit is incapable of evil.

Evil then is the illusory result of materializing God. If mortals could see, hear, touch, and understand all, there would be no evil.  Evil is limited perception. Such a limitation was necessary if God were to produce anything other than Himself.

Smallest Particles of Matter

The assembly of energy into the most minute spheres of matter produces vibrations in the content of space that are recognizable and measurable. Rays of these smallest particles shower in on Earth. These powerful rays are the first activity of the tiny particles as they slow down to vector into the electronic organization of matter.

Each of these particles has Paradise as its nucleus. They are the scattered energy fragments of the Unqualified Absolute.

Failures and Fragments

Earth's mineral kingdom is composed of lives judged as failures in a previous solar system. Stripped of personality, these lives were damned to immersion in the forms of the mineral kingdom to repeat the upward and inward evolutionary climb.

In realizing there are forces existent in nature that make up imprisoned remnants of prior higher lives, mortals may better understand the cruelty, the rebellion, and the diseases seen in the animal kingdom.  The animal kingdom includes man's physical body.

The conscious fragments of the Unqualified Absolute ride the smallest particles of matter into time and space.  Through evolution, these fragments eventually free themselves from the slower vibrations of the lower kingdoms. So far, the unqualified fragments have labored upward from the mineral kingdom to a place in animal bodies.

All the evolving atoms of physical bodies eventually find their place within the eyes of animals and then of man.  The eyes of animals and humans form portals where the animal or human soul can look out on illusion.

Mortals are the volunteer Sons of God who act as pathfinders.  They met and set free rising masses of damned former lives and the fragments of the Unqualified Absolute from the mineral kingdom while living lives in the vegetable kingdom.

Angels

Angels share certain personality attributes with humans.

They must acquire knowledge and gain experience just as human beings do.

Angels crave to start at the lowest possible ministry so they may achieve the highest possible experiential destiny.

The Path for Mortals

Becoming a citizen of the spiritual kingdom consists of a series of actions and events that connect the subjective life with the physical outer life. The inner and outer lives continue to interact, but the inner reality eventually comes into manifestation by surrendering the outer human life to the divine.

The path for man is long.  At the close of his long pilgrimage, man will have passed through many levels of many kingdoms of creation (the vegetable, animal, human, and the spiritual kingdoms) on his way back to his source.

Man traverses the path through the human kingdom helped by the Thought Adjuster, many heavenly beings, the soul, the mind, and the five senses (hearing, touch or feeling, sight, taste, and smell).

In addition, Christ lived his metaphorical life to pave the path for man to follow.

The Over Soul

All that is exists for the sake of the Over soul, which is that of the Supreme Being.  The soul of man is a minute part of the Soul of the Supreme. Man's world, his tiny environment, and his contacts exist for the sake of the experience they bring him.

Man’s environment is the result of his own wants and thought power.  All around and through man lays that greater whole of which he is a part.

The whole universe of matter is a field for the experience of some existence.  Active Intelligence, the Infinite Spirit of the Paradise Trinity in manifestation, is Universal soul, the matrix of the Universe, the matter from which all that exists is born apart from the Absolute.

Many names identify the divine energy of Active Intelligence.  Air, fire, water, and electricity are examples.  Nevertheless, there is only one universal building block with innumerable differentiations.

The Law of Giving

The Law of Giving underlies all evolution, but it only emerges in the human family. The instinct to improve, the urge to progress (physically, emotionally and intellectually), the effort to make conditions better, and the sense of responsibility that makes men realize that they are their brother's keeper, are all expressions of this sharing impulse.

This quality impelled the Soul of God Himself to enter form life.  It impels heavenly life to descend into matter, producing the immanence of God.

The instinct to improve drives humanity forward in its struggle for material well-being. It eventually urges man to turn his back on the world and the flesh and orient himself to concerns of spiritual import.

The Prodigal Son

Allegorically, the prodigal son sacrificed his residence in the Father's home.  He wasted and lost his substance through his wasteful use of the life experience on earth.  When he had sacrificed higher values for things of lesser value and exhausted all his resources for things he discovered to be worthless and unsatisfying, he returned to his Father’s home.

The theme of the prodigal son’s life story is the same for of all the sons of God who come into incarnation.  That which is lower must die to release that which is higher, and that which is higher in the order and scale of being, must die to release that which is lower.

Every individual must learn the same lesson.  Death as the human consciousness understands it is pain and sorrow.  This is true because man identifies himself with the life of the form and not with the life and consciousness of the soul. The moment a man identifies himself with his soul and not with his form, he understands the meaning of the Law of Giving.  When the Law of Giving governs him, he will choose to die. There is no pain, no sorrow, and no real death involved.

This is the secret of illusion.

The Task of Man

Man lives in bodies on planes above the physical plane - the soul, and the mind.  These bodies are forms invisible to the sight of man.

Man also has invisible bodies on the physical level.  These forms consist of millions of cells.  Each cell embodies a lesser life.  Each cell is in constant activity and each is repulsing other cells to preserve its individuality.  Yet, each cell is held to every other cell by a central attractive force.

The same technique produces the outer form of a crystal, a vegetable, an animal, a man, a planet, or a solar system.  Every kingdom displays the duality of attraction and repulsion. The physical atom attracts or repulses other atoms just as man attracts or repulses other humans in his social life.

Man’s task is to bring down into consciousness the full spiritual control of his God within, the Thought Adjuster.  Under the control of the Thought Adjuster, man must dominate circumstance, make his environment his instrument, and manipulate matter.

Man - Macrocosm and Tabernacle

Man is both an animal and a potential god.

As the macrocosm of the animal kingdom, man unites all forms in his self.  He contains every element found in the universe, and he has the potentiality of every organ useful to animal life.  Developing as an embryo in the womb, man reproduces every form he has lived in prior evolutionary lives.

While everything in nature tends to become man, man tends to become a god.

As a potential god, man is a true reflection of the Son of God, Michael.  Man is the tabernacle of God.  Human intelligence links spirit and matter in man.

The Word

Sound in all of its aspects (from the mathematics of music to language) is the link between abstract thought and concrete form. The Word is a song that obeys the laws of proportion and makes known its effect on all matter.  The song of creation when “sung” by Power Directors and greater angels impels cosmic matter into a “dance” of crystallization.

All forms (from a molecule of salt to the complex organism of the human body) are structures of creation that emanate from one basic sound.

Reflecting the division of Absolute Deity, the one basic sound split itself into the three of the Trinity.  The sound of Trinity subsequently became seven vowels, then seven notes.  Finally, the seven notes became the seven combinations of the seven notes as the Word descended through the chains of spiritual hierarchy.

The seven notes gradually descended into the material field of the consonants.

The Word has many syllables that form a phrase of words that produce different sounds with different sets of vibrations. The scale of vibrations divides into octaves of seven.

Sounds that form physical substance or matter are of a low vibration.  These Forces, sung by Power Directors and angels employing magnetism and gravity begin the spinning and coalescing of substances.

The sounds of creation are beyond the range of human hearing.  Far above the range of human sound are heat vibrations to which the human sense of touch responds.  Below the human hearing range are the vibrations of the chemical substances.    Far down the scale of octaves are the metals.  High on the scale of octaves are colors.

Human and Angel Evolution

The physical, emotional, and mental worlds hold the parallel evolutions of both humans and angels.  Men and angels evolve through relationships with one another.

Angels express ideas differently than man.  Man sees colors and hears sounds.  The medium of angels is color.  They hear color and see sound.

Man is evolving inner vision and must learn to see through clairvoyance.  The angels are evolving inner hearing (clairaudience).

Both men and angels are imperfect.  Man is evolving by contact and experience.  He expands.  Angels evolve by lessening contact.

Man aims at self-control.  Angels develop by being controlled.  Man is innately love.  Love is the force that produces logical, orderly, and consistent relationships in the life of man.  The angels are innately intelligence.  Intelligence is the force that produces action.

Will, the third force, balances the electric phenomena of love and intelligence.  Will must play equally on and through both the human and angelic evolutions.

Mental Influence

A sphere encompasses and defines the mental influence of any life force.  The scope of the mental circumference applies to all forms from the atom of matter through the human atom (man), the planetary atom (Earth), and beyond to the great atoms of the solar systems.

The area of mental influence of the average human being extends beyond the physical body and enables the human to work on the lower levels of the mental plane.  Dogma and cultural beliefs restrict the area of mental influence.

The Source of Mind

The seven mind spirits of the Creative Daughter are the source of mind in the local universe.  The seven adjutant mind-spirits are not entities.  While the mind spirits change experientially, they never become personalities.  They are more like rays or circuits that work as a consciousness of the Creative Daughter.

Because the seven adjutant spirits minister down to the most primitive types of life, they control the course of organic evolution.

In the order of their contribution to evolutionary attainment, the seven mind spirits are:

Intuition - This spirit fosters the reflex instincts and functions mostly in the lower orders of animal life.

Understanding - This mind spirit is responsible for the spontaneous association of ideas, quick reasoning, rapid judgment, and prompt decisions.

Courage - This spirit provides the base for character acquirement, moral stamina and spiritual bravery.

Knowledge - This mind ray gives the gift of curiosity, adventure, discovery, and the scientific discovery.

Counsel - This adjutant provides the gregarious instinct among the more lowly creatures, and the social urges among the higher will creatures.

Worship - This ray prompts the religious impulse.  This urge separates mind creatures into two basic classes of mortal existence, that is spiritual-ascension candidates and soulless creatures.

Wisdom - This spirit is the coordinator of the work of all the others. The spirit of wisdom fosters that urge of mind creatures to employ their experience and opportunities to acquire everything the other six mind spirits organize in the mind of each organism.  Wisdom is the goal of mental and moral existence.

The work of the first five mind spirits in the animal orders is essential to the role of all seven as human intellect. Therefore, animals are indispensable to man’s intellectual as well as his physical evolution.

Seven Cosmic Circles

Mastery of seven successive cosmic circles measures the progress of individual human beings on this planet. The circles of mortal progression are levels of intellectual, social, spiritual, and cosmic-insight values. Starting out in the seventh circle, successful mortals strive for circle number one.

The seven circles embrace mortal experience extending from the highest animal level to the lowest soul contact level. The Thought Adjuster is the guide of each mortal in reaching the seven circles. Mortals who gain the third circle receive personal guardian angels.

Planetary Progress

Just like individuals, the population of the planet as a total entity must also achieve the progressive levels of the seven cosmic circles.

Slowed by the Lucifer led planetary rebellion and the consequent spiritual quarantine, Earth suffers from disease, degeneracy, war, multicolored races, and multilingualism.

No evolutionary world can progress spiritually until it achieves one language, one religion, and one philosophy. Being of one race makes the goal of brotherhood easier.

Physical Forms and Soul

Every form in manifestation in any of the four kingdoms (mineral, vegetable,

animal or human) seizes as much of the world’s over soul as its capacity allows.  Every molecule and every cell has soul, but not to the same degree as an animal and so on up the scale.

Through interaction between the soul and the form, consciousness and quality express themselves according to the body and its point of evolution.

The soul forces the body forward along the path of development. The soul masters the technique of “contact,” which is the objective of the soul in any form.

Spiritual Consciousness

Everything is an expression of a spiritual consciousness, which spiritualizes all material forms by its inherent life.  An earthworm working out its tiny life is as much a part of spiritual expression as is a human working out his destiny.

Everything is Deity manifesting.  All is divine expression. All is some form of sensory awareness, a response to environment, and consciousness.

The Seventh Adjutant Mind Spirit of Worship will increasingly lead humanity in the ages to come.  As science continues to penetrate further into the field of intangible yet real phenomena, it will discover that dense substance does not exist.  Science will realize there is only one substance present in nature.  This substance exists in varying degrees of density and of vibratory activity.  All atoms regardless of their state of evolutionary development are related.

The phrase, "All souls are one with the Supreme Over soul," is an essential piece of knowledge.  Human progress will be slow until man realizes there is a relationship between all conscious beings, that is, universal brotherhood.

Service of the Angels

The loving service of the guardian seraphim made possible the kingdom of humans.  These angels, fully realizing the risks and the difficulties involved, volunteered to assist and guide humans so the lesser kingdoms could evolve. This service of love makes possible the evolutionary plan of the Thought Adjusters with the intended eventual recovery of the material fragments of the Unqualified Absolute.

The Divine Consciousness (the Thought Adjuster Father fragments), having worked their way through the subhuman kingdoms, needed participating angels to make further progress possible.  Volunteer seraphim help raise the energy-matter of the Unqualified Absolute fragments into Heaven as deified personalities.

The willing service of the Creator Sons of God (the Christ), their angels, and their lives in time and space is the mystery hinted at in the scriptures of the world. Men discover this secret of the ages as each one enters a conscious relation with his own soul. When he discovers that which he has joyously done in the past, he realizes the supreme sacrifice he knowingly made in the early dawn of time itself. This career as a soul hastens the progress of other souls towards their goal.

The Final Goal

The purpose of life in the universes of time and space is to master the art of living together.  Jesus urged his advanced followers, the apostles, to practice fatherly rather than mere brotherly love.

Brotherly love consists of loving your neighbor as you love yourself.  That would be acceptable fulfillment of the less important, "golden rule."  Fatherly affection requires that you love your fellow mortals as Jesus and the Father in Heaven love mortal men, their sons.
